Great examples. I finished and enjoyed the book at your recommendation too!

The thing I find tricky about trying to fix demand constraints as an analyst is it often feels like you need to “fix” a core part of the business — “what value are we offering to customers.” It feels a lot more daunting than a leakage problem

The recurring revenue manufacturing example is a really interesting one!

That's why it's a powerful and important skill. Honestly it's not that daunting. Most business valus is simple. You might need a little courage but then any great endeavor does.

Would it be possible for you to add more on the manufacturing case study. Particularly in the sense that locking orders raised any working capital issues?

From what I remember, the plant was running pretty lean but they are in the middle of the supply chain in that they have to buy raw materials from other upstream suppliers. Having the cash upfront lets them to buy in bulk but I don’t there is a concern about inventory. I don’t have more details unfortunately.
